Vision Statement

Ton Pentre Junior School is committed to excellence.  We strive for academic and personal success and to develop our pupils’ confidence and self-esteem.  We aim to produce successful, rounded individuals.

Aims

The aims of the school encompass our beliefs regarding:

The kind of people we want our pupils to be

  • Successful and reach their full potential
  • Confidence, have sound moral principles, mutual respect, honesty, good manners and citizenship
  • Ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout the lives
  • Enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
  • Ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
  • Healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society

The kind of things we want our pupils to be able to do, know and understand

  • To develop a life-long love of learning
  • To prepare each child for life in the 21st Century, by developing their Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Competency
  • To develop pupils’ ability to work independently and with others

The kind of school we want this to be

  • To be recognised as a centre of excellence
  • To provide a safe, secure, welcoming and stimulating learning environment
  • To create a happy and friendly school, where all children are treated sensitively and learn to be considerate to others
  • To involve parents and other partnerships in the life of the school
  • To create an atmosphere that ensures staff, children, parents, governors and the community work together to actively promote high standards and further develop our shared vision

We pursue these aims because we want to increase the life chances of our children, so that as they strive they will achieve.
