The Governing Body of Ysgol Iau Ton Pentre Junior School is made up of the Head Teacher, Local Authority representatives, community representatives, parents and staff at the school who work with the Headteacher on a voluntary basis to strategically manage the school in partnership with RCT.  They all bring their particular specialist qualities to the Governing Body.  They are a corporate body consisting of unpaid volunteers with a duty to act in the best interests of the whole school, and they work diligently as a collective for the benefit of the pupils. 

The Governing Body has legal duties, powers and responsibilities and are appointed to help decide what is taught within the school, decide how the school budget is spent, interview and select staff and set codes of behaviour and discipline. They meet at least once a term.
